The former Barcelona star Cesc Fabregas is poised to assume his first managerial role in the near future. The 36-year-old made the decision to retire from playing in July, culminating a career that featured notable achievements such as a World Cup and two European Championship victories with Spain, two Premier League titles at Chelsea, and a La Liga trophy with Barcelona. After departing AS Monaco, the veteran midfielder joined Italian Serie B side Como in 2022 but chose to conclude his career earlier than planned.
According to reports from Football Italia, Fabregas is expected to take on the position of head coach at Como following the dismissal of Moreno Longo. Fabregas has been working as a youth team coach at Como since the beginning of the 2023/24 season as he strives to lay the groundwork for a future career in management. If he accepts the role, it will mark his first experience coaching at the senior level, with Como currently holding sixth place in Serie B after 12 games played.
