Copa América semifinals scheduled for New Jersey and Charlotte
The 2024 Copa América is set to be a historic event, with fourteen U.S. cities announced as hosts for the tournament. The semifinals will take place in East Rutherford, New Jersey, and Charlotte, North Carolina, leading up to the championship in Miami Gardens, Florida. This edition will also see an expansion, with six teams from North America joining the 10 South American nations in competition. The tournament promises to be an exciting and diverse event, with games taking place in various states across the country.
The 2024 Copa América tournament is set to be held in fourteen U.S. cities next summer. The semifinals will be in East Rutherford, New Jersey, and Charlotte, North Carolina, with the championship game set for Miami Gardens, Florida on July 14th. This will be the first time the tournament is expanded to include six teams from North America, joining the usual 10 nations from South America. The draw for the tournament is set for Thursday in Miami.
The governing bodies of South America and of North and Central America and the Caribbean made the announcement Monday, filling in the cities that will be part of the 16-team tournament.
The quarterfinals will be held at various stadiums in Houston, Arlington, Glendale, and Las Vegas. The semifinals will be in New Jersey’s MetLife Stadium and Charlotte’s Bank of America Stadium, with the third-place game also in Charlotte.
