West Ham United Football Club is a professional football club based in Stratford, East London, the club was founded in 1895 as Thames Ironworks and reformed in 1900 as West Ham United, the team initially competed in the Southern League and Western League before joining the Football League in 1919, it was promoted to the top flight in 1923, when it was also losing finalists in the first FA Cup final held at Wembley.

West Ham United has won five major honors in its history. Domestically, it has been winners of the FA Cup three times (1964, 1975, and 1980) and runners-up twice (1923 and 2006).

In European competitions, the club has reached three major European finals, winning the European Cup Winners’ Cup in 1965, finishing runners-up in the same competition in 1976, and winning the second edition of the Europa Conference League in 2023.

West Ham United’s logo features a pair of crossed rivet hammers, which is part of the club’s heritage as a workers’ team, the current logo was unveiled in 1999 and features only one hammer but still includes all three heraldic symbols on its shield along with “United”.
