Man Utd to Cover Jadon Sancho’s Weekly Wages at Borussia Dortmund During Loan After £73m Transfer Frozen Out
Introduction to this article
Borussia Dortmund are in talks with Manchester United over a potential loan move for Jadon Sancho, and the German club is reportedly demanding that United pay a third of his wages.
Borussia Dortmund’s Demands
Dortmund is not willing to pay Sancho’s entire £290,000-a-week salary and is requesting that United cover £100,000 of his wages every week. This arrangement would save United £5 million, helping the club meet Financial Fair Play regulations.
The Proposed Deal
While there would be no obligation to buy Sancho included in the deal, Dortmund may have to pay more for the loan if certain clauses based on appearances and Champions League qualification are met.
Sancho’s Situation at Man Utd
Sancho has not played for Man Utd since September, following a public fall out with manager Erik ten Hag, whom he accused of making him a “scapegoat”. As a result, he has been banned from training and all first-team facilities.
Other Transfers for Dortmund
Meanwhile, Dortmund is also reportedly close to securing the loan signing of Chelsea’s Ian Maatsen.
