Former Manchester United wonderkid, praised as a ‘top player’ by Jose Mourinho, joins his ninth club after unsuccessful summer transfer.
Cameron Borthwick-Jackson’s Journeyman Career
Borthwick-Jackson’s Early Promise at Manchester United
At the age of 26, Cameron Borthwick-Jackson has now joined his ninth club, marking a journeyman career for the former Manchester United prospect. Once hailed as a “top player” by Jose Mourinho, Borthwick-Jackson has struggled to live up to the high expectations set during his time at Old Trafford. After making 14 appearances for Manchester United, including 10 in the Premier League, he ultimately failed to make the grade at the club he came up through the academy with.
A Rollercoaster Journey Since Leaving Manchester United
Following his departure from Manchester United, Borthwick-Jackson has had a rollercoaster journey, making stops at various clubs on loan spells and through permanent transfers. His journey has taken him to clubs such as Wolves, Leeds, Scunthorpe, Tranmere, and Oldham. Despite moments of promise, including a permanent move to Oldham in 2020, Borthwick-Jackson has struggled to find stability, finding himself loaned out to Polish outfit Śląsk Wrocław last year.
Joining Ross County and Finding Stability
Now, with his move to Ross County, Borthwick-Jackson has joined his eighth club on loan until the end of the season. The Scottish Premiership club confirmed his arrival with a statement, expressing their delight in signing the former Manchester United left-back. With Ross County currently sitting 11th in the Scottish Premiership, the move provides Borthwick-Jackson with another opportunity to prove himself and find stability in his career.
