Bayern Munich secures the signing of Jonah Kusi-Asare

Bayern Munich has reportedly beaten both Manchester United and Chelsea to secure a transfer deal with AIK for Jonah Kusi-Asare worth more than £4 million. The 16-year-old will sign a three-and-a-half-year contract with an option to extend for a further two years.

Jonah Kusi-Asare’s career and potential

Kusi-Asare spent ten years in the youth academy at Brommapojkarna in Stockholm before joining AIK in 2023. He signed his first professional contract at the age of 16, breaking records at the club as the youngest player to make an appearance. While he is yet to score for the first team, he is highly regarded for his potential, especially due to his impressive physique and his performance with the Sweden Under-16 and U17 sides.

Man Utd’s missed opportunities

In addition to Kusi-Asare, Manchester United has also missed out on other talented prospects, including Belgian midfielder Arthur Vermeeren and Lille defender Leny Yoro. However, they remain interested in other rising stars and have a host of promising young talent in their academy, including goal machine Amir Ibragimov.
