Liverpool Striker Luis Diaz’s Parents Kidnapped by Colombian Guerrilla Group in Bogota
Liverpool winger Luis Diaz’s parents were kidnapped in Colombia by a unit belonging to the ELN guerrilla group, according to the government. Luis Manuel Diaz and Cilenis Marulanda were abducted at a gas station in their hometown of Barrancas. Marulanda was rescued later that day, but there has been no ransom demand.
The government demands that the ELN release Luis Manuel Diaz and ensures his safety. The ELN and the government are currently engaged in peace negotiations, including a six-month ceasefire.

The whereabouts of Luis Manuel Diaz remain unknown, but the Attorney General suggests he could be in Venezuela. The ELN has not claimed responsibility for the kidnapping.
