Marcus Rashford Calls for an End to ‘False Rumours’ About His Future at Manchester United
Marcus Rashford has appealed for the cessation of “malicious” speculation pertaining to his future at Manchester United after his absence from the recent victory against Fulham due to injury. The English forward has expressed his regret to United manager Erik ten Hag for attending a nightclub event following the humiliating 3-0 defeat to Manchester City on October 29. Ten Hag deemed Rashford’s behavior unacceptable, yet acknowledged the 26-year-old’s determination to rectify his performance.
Rashford did not participate in the game at Craven Cottage as a result of an injury sustained in training, having previously appeared as a substitute in last week’s 3-0 loss to Newcastle, just three days after their defeat by City.
“Please refrain from spreading unfounded rumors,” Rashford responded to The United Stand account, a fan channel affiliated with the club, in a post on X, formerly known as Twitter.
The United Stand had garnered attention for their latest online episode by inquiring, “Is Rashford’s future uncertain? WE’RE LIVE!”
Rashford tallied 30 goals in various competitions last season, but has only managed one goal thus far in the current campaign as United has faced significant challenges.
The club currently positions eighth in the Premier League table after enduring five defeats in their initial 11 matches, and now face an uphill struggle to progress to the knockout stages of the Champions League.
Marcus Rashford, the Manchester United footballer, has expressed his frustration with the “malicious” rumors surrounding his future at the club. Following a nightclub party after a defeat to Manchester City, Rashford apologized to his boss and missed a game due to injury. He pleaded for an end to the gossip. Despite his impressive performance last season, Rashford has struggled this year, and Manchester United find themselves in a difficult position in the league.
